Travis Kelce Says Secret Service Actually Did Threaten to Tase Him During White House Visit

Travis Kelce avoided a seriously painful encounter.

The 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end appeared alongside his teammates for a visit to the White House to meet President Joe Biden over the weekend.

During his brief moment at the podium alongside the President of the United States, he seemingly joked that he was threatened with getting tased after approaching the podium last year.

“My fellow Americans. It’s nice to see you all yet again. I’m not gonna lie, President Biden, they told me if I came up here I’d get tased. So, I’m gonna go back to my spot,” he said.

On Wednesday’s episode (June 5) of his New Heights podcast, Travis said he actually received a warning from members of the Secret Service.

“That’s real. The secret service that’s all over the White House, they weren’t too happy with me. They weren’t too happy with me on my second time visiting,” he said. He also admitted he didn’t have proper ID during the last visit.

“Last time, I was talking about how I had an expired ID…I caught s–t for that.”

“I made sure, because of what happened last time and how embarrassed I was for going to the White House with an expired ID, I made sure that I brought my passport with me this time. I was doing things the right way because everyone has to do that at the White House.”

“When I walked in, we had about four or five secret service members come up to me and go, ‘You know that if you go up to that podium we are authorized to tase you. It is actually ordered for us to tase you,’” he continued.

He added that he had “no idea” President Biden would invite him to speak this time.

“He walked right up and the first thing he said was [to] give me the floor. I felt taser aimed at me when I was up there the whole time.”

“Any time that I get a chance to get recognized by the President of the United States and get to go with my teammates, and a group of men and women that I had success with to the point where we get to get acknowledged, man, I’m doing it every single time,” he went on to say. “No matter who’s up there at the helm, no matter what’s going on in this world, I think it’s just such a cool opportunity.”

One reason the couple opted to move their family? It is nearby Lambrook School, where all three kids began that September (and remain pupils at still today). In his new biography Catherine, Princess of Wales (out now), Robert Jobson expands on Kate and William’s decision to move — and how it sweetly involves Queen Elizabeth.Jobson writes that William, 42, wanted to move so he could be closer to his grandmother after the April 2021 death of her husband, Prince Philip, and Kate, also 42, was very much in favor of the ideaQuoting in aide, Jobson writes that William “knew his time with his grandmother was precious and he is delighted they, as a couple, made that decision.” He adds, “Catherine understood that for William, as a future king, it was important for him to be geographically closer to the late Queen in her final months, when he was required to support both her and his father. It made a real difference. They were in regular
