Sofia Vergara has responded to a lawsuit from a contractor who renovated her Los Angeles mansion and claimed she didn’t pay.
In the counterclaim the Griselda star’s attorney Martin Singer alleges that the contractor intended to ’embarrass’ the actress, 51, and ‘publicize a false narrative’ as per People.
Sofia is being sued by Reside Custom Homes, who allege she failed to pay a massive bill for construction done on her home. They claim she owes them over $1,700,492.6

Singer says the lawsuit was filed in order to take attention away from what he believes was an agreement breach.
The filing claims that Reside’s construction on Vergara’s home was negligent and led to $5 million in damages due to ‘delays, failure to make necessary repairs, and ignoring reports from an on-site representative, who pointed out faulty work and overcharges.’
