NEWSPAPERS UNTIL 24 HOURS AFTER CREATE DATE AND TIME) Prince George of Wales watches an RAF flypast from the balcony of Buckingham Palace after attending Trooping the Colour on June 15, 2024 in London, England.

Trooping the Colour, also known as The King’s Birthday Parade, is a military ceremony to mark the official birthday of the British Sovereign. The ceremony takes place at Horse Guards Parade followed by a flypast over Buckingham Palace and was first performed in the mid-17th century during the reign of King Charles II. The parade features all seven regiments of the Household Division with Number 9 Company, Irish Guards being the regiment this year having their Colour Trooped. While it may be a royal family tradition to have a career in the army, it’s rumoured that Prince George has rather different ambitions.

The 11-year-old son of Prince William and the Princess of Wales will one day be King, but before he reaches the hallowed halls of Buckingham Palace, you may bump into the young Prince at somewhere a little less grand – the local pizza parlour, to be exact.

Desmond MacCarthy, the famously eccentric owner of Wiveton Hall, a 17th-century Jacobean mansion near Cley on the Norfolk coastline, recently revealed that the young Prince has spoken of his love of cooking, and his ambition to one day work in a kitchen. MacCarthy, who runs an exceptionally popular cafe on his estate, told MailOnline that when George was shown the wood-fired pizza oven, he excitedly exclaimed: β€˜That’s what I want to do when I grow up!’
