There have been plenty of discussions and storylines tossed around leading up to Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.

Among many of them, the historic Super Bowl three-peat is on the horizon if the Chiefs can knock off the Eagles on Sunday in New Orleans. Nonetheless, the message from the Chiefs has been fairly consistent ahead of the big game.

Hours before kickoff, NFL Network reporter Cameron Wolfe revealed Mahomes’ message to the team on Saturday night.

Wolfe states that he was told of the message from Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt.

I’m told he got in front of the team Saturday night with a message: ‘This is about us.'”

ESPN’s Jeff Darlington also revealed the message from Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.

“He told his team to look right, to look left, and to play for the person next to them,” Darlington stated.

Darlington also added that neither Reid, Mahomes, Travis Kelce, or Chris Jones mentioned the historic three-peat.

Instead, they want it to be about “this game and this game only.”

The Chiefs and Eagles faced off in Super Bowl LVII, and Mahomes’ team got the win.

Last season, the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers, 25-22.

Sure, history could happen, but Mahomes and the Chiefs are just focused on winning this game, plain and simple.
