Olympic Gymnast Simone Biles and NFL Player Jonathan Owens Announce Their Pregnancy with a Heartwarming, Picture-Perfect Photoshoot Showcasing Biles’ Growing Baby Bump

Simon Biles hopes to eventually add another title to her list of accolades: mother.

The 27-year-old Olympian — who is the most-decorated gymnast of all time after her highly-successful Paris Olympics — sat down with the Today show’s Hoda Kotb on Tuesday, Aug. 6, where she revealed that having children is something she and husband Jonathan Owens see in their future.

“Me and Jonathan always talk about kids,” said Biles, in an interview from the Paris Games.

“He would have them, like, yesterday if he could have.”

“Obviously we both have goals that we want to achieve before we start a family.

But yes, that’s definitely in our future,” she added.

Asked by Kotb if she sees herself as a mom, Biles said “Yes, most definitely.”

When PEOPLE asked Owens, 29, his thoughts on the couple’s plans for kids during an interview at the Games, the Chicago Bears safety said, “Man, in the future, man.

For sure.”

During her Today show segment, Kotb asked Biles — who spent years in foster care as a child before her grandparents, whom she calls Mom and Dad, Nellie and Ron officially adopted her and her sister Adria in 2003 — to share a person that helped her reach the success she has today.

“If not for my parents and adoption, I would not be here today,” Biles responded.

In a 2021 episode of her Facebook Watch series, Simone Vs. Herself, the decorated gymnast opened up about taking on a more maternal role when she and Adria were younger.

“I wanted to take care of Adria obviously because she was the baby,” Simone said on the series.

“I just felt like I needed to look out for her because if family doesn’t look out for you, who’s going to?”

Adria told ESPN in 2016 that Biles is “kind and humble,” adding, “I look up to her in every way.”
