Novak Djokovic ‘sad’ as daughter Tara, 6, snubs his Wimbledon match

Novak Djokovic admitted he was “sad” to learn his young daughter isn’t bothered about watching his matches as he gears up for another SW19 semi-final. The 37-year-old will face Lorenzo Musetti on Friday in his 13th Wimbledon semi-final – equalling the record set by Roger Federer – and his 49th in a Grand Slam overall
Such greatness means his family have become accustomed to watching the Serbian win throughout his illustrious career. So much so that Djokovic’s six-year-old daughter, Tara, was even caught by broadcast cameras reading a book about unicorns during Djokovic’s fourth-round tie with Alexei Popyrin.
When asked about how he felt watching one of his “biggest fans” ignoring the action on court, a chuckling Djokovic joked that he was disappointed to discover Tara wasn’t interested.
“I love unicorns, of course! I was very happy when I saw that. And sad at the same time because my tennis doesn’t make her excited so much, so she needs to grab a book to entertain herself,” Djokovic said, speaking to The Tennis Channel.
