Kensington Palace brings very good news about Kate Middleton: Will she attend the Wimbledon men’s final?
The British Royal Family has announced that Kate Middleton will be present at the men’s singles Wimbledon final on Sunday and will be handing the trophy to the winner.
Since announcing that she is receiving treatment for cancer, Middleton has been seen very rarely in the public eye. She did appear for the Trooping of the Colour, and many have been wondering whether she will make her usual appearance at the Wimbledon finals
Middleton will not be at the women’s singles final on Saturday, though, with Wimbledon chairwoman Debbie Jevans presenting the trophy on behalf of Kate to either Jasmine Paolini or Barbora Krejcikova.
The men’s final is going to be contested by Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz, which is a repeat of the 2023 final which went the way of the young Spaniard.
William and Kate in action this weekend
Contingency plans had been put in place for the Duchess of Gloucester, an Honorary President of the Lawn Tennis Association for 25 years, to step in if the Princess of Wales was unavailable due to her ongoing preventative cancer treatment.
It is a busy weekend in the world of sport and her husband, Prince William is heading to Berlin for the final of the 2024 Men’s European Championship which will see England take on Spain at the Olympiastadion.
William is the president of the Football Association and will be front and center of any celebrations should England manage to win.
Clearly, it could be a huge sporting day for the nation of Spain with the potential for Alcaraz to defend his Wimbledon title just hours before Spain win a third European Championship in their history.
