Jannik Sinner has explained why he left the court in the middle of his Wimbledon quarter-final against Daniil Medvedev.
The world No. 1 called the physio and the doctor early in the third set and appeared to have his heart rate checked before going off, sparking health concerns
He forced a decider but ultimately crashed out 6-7(7) 6-4 7-6(4) 2-6 6-3. And Sinner has now given an update on his health, confirming he went into the match unwell.
There were fears when Sinner walked off Centre Court at 1-2 in the third set, emerging around 10 minutes later and continuing the match. He looked out of sorts for the rest of the set but managed to get himself back on serve and even had set points before losing it in a tiebreak.
