Ellen DeGeneres in state of depression as career and marriage to Portia de Rossi come to an end….see more

Ellen DeGreneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, may have hoped for a fresh start when they left the U.S. for a quieter life in Britain, but sources say their dream is quickly turning into a nightmare.
The couple, who purchased an $18 million farmhouse in England’s picturesque Cotswolds, are reportedly facing intense backlash from locals over their plans to renovate the historic property.
According to RadarOnline.com, neighbors are furious over the couple’s proposed updates, viewing them as disruptive outsiders attempting to change the character of the long-established community.
“The locals are cranky over their plans to modernize their property,” a source shared with RadarOnline.com.
“Most folks would like nothing more than to see them move out.
A lot of people in England can trace their family tree back over a thousand years and they don’t take kindly to outsiders coming in and disturbing the peace.”
Relationship Strain and Career Setbacks Add to Turmoil
As if navigating strict U.K. planning laws and an unfriendly neighborhood weren’t enough, insiders claim DeGeneres and De Rossi’s marriage is also under serious strain.
“Ellen and Portia’s neighbors battle is the least of their worries – Ellen’s dead showbiz career has plunged her into a funk, and Portia has been dragged into it too.
Their relationship isn’t looking good,” an insider revealed.
The couple reportedly hoped that leaving the U.S. – especially after Ellen’s controversial fall from daytime TV stardom – would provide them with peace and privacy.
However, the challenges of adjusting to a new country and facing pushback from locals have only added more stress.
Adding to the friction, the couple’s extensive renovation plans have raised concerns about potential flooding risks and even damaging historic Roman remains on the property.
“Ellen has done a complete overhaul on just about every property she’s owned in the States, but it’s a different ball of wax in the U.K.,” the source said.
“It’s very complex, with strict planning laws and detailed applications.
It could take months, maybe more, before Ellen and Portia get their home fixed up the way they want it.”
Their recent sale of their sprawling Montecito mansion for $32 million freed them up to relocate overseas, reportedly in part to escape the political climate in the U.S. following Donald Trump’s re-election bid.
But now, sources say they may be regretting that decision.
“Ellen’s got to be wondering if they made a terrible mistake,” the insider explained. “One of the reasons she wanted to get out of the U.S. was to escape the negativity.
She really thought things would be better, not worse.”
With local tensions rising and the couple’s personal life reportedly fraying, the once-powerful TV star is now facing an uncertain future – both professionally and privately.
