Barbora Krejcikova came from a set down against Elena Rybakina to punch her ticket to Saturday’s Wimbledon final. The 28-year-old showed heart and spirit on Centre Court to come through 3-6 6-3 6-4 and set up an intriguing clash with Jasmine Paolini, in which she will fight for the second Grand Slam title of her career.

Both women came into the showdown in red-hot form. Rybakina had dropped just one set in a run of five matches which included a resounding win over Elina Svitolina in the quarter-finals. Krejcikova had also dropped a single set on her journey to the semis, and she boasted the head-to-head advantage over Thursday’s opponent with two unanswered wins.

Extending that to three with a gutsy display has left Krejcikova in with a solid chance of sealing another Grand Slam title following her French Open victory three years ago.

Rybakina is known for her monstrous serve and she didn’t waste any time before wheeling it out. A number of them thundered down Centre Court in the very first game, and before Krejcikova could blink she was 2-0 down, as Rybakina notched a speedy break
