Andy Reid and the Chiefs kick off the sweep with bold, unexpected roster moves, focused on seeking revenge in 2025…see

The Kansas City Chiefs wasted no time making roster adjustments following their disappointing loss in Super Bowl LIX.
Falling short of their bid to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls, the Chiefs were routed 40-22 by the Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
The team has already shifted focus to the 2025 season, making a series of moves to reshape their roster and prepare for another championship run.
Among the changes, Kansas City signed 11 players to reserve/futures contracts, signaling their commitment to building depth and planning for the future.
The retained players include quarterback Chris Oladokun, wide receivers Jason Brownlee, Justyn Ross, and Tyquan Thornton, tight end Baylor Cupp, tackle Chukuebuka Godrick, defensive linemen Siaki Ika and Fabien Lovett Sr., cornerbacks Darius Rush and Eric Scott Jr., and safety Deon Bush.
These signings reflect a strategic approach to bolstering key positions across the roster.
However, Andy Reid and the Chiefs also made difficult decisions, parting ways with seven players who were members of the practice squad.
Those released include linebackers Swayze Bozeman and Cole Christiansen, tight end Anthony Firkser, running back Keontay Ingram, cornerbacks Nic Jones and Steven Nelson, and wide receiver Montrell Washington.
These moves underscore the team’s intent to recalibrate its personnel in pursuit of another Super Bowl appearance.
Travis Kelce’s Future in Question: Will He Retire
One of the most pressing questions for Kansas City remains the future of tight end Travis Kelce.
At 35 years old, Kelce has yet to decide whether he will retire from the sport.
Speaking on his New Heights podcast, Kelce addressed his uncertainty: “I’m just kicking everything down the road.
I’m kicking every can I can down the road and I’m not making any crazy decisions.”
His potential retirement would be a significant shift for the Chiefs, given his pivotal role in their offense and leadership on the field.
The Chiefs also face challenges with expiring contracts for several high-profile players signed during their push for a three-peat.
These offseason decisions will be critical as Kansas City navigates salary cap constraints and positions itself for another championship run.
The team’s determination to bounce back is evident, as they work to maintain their status as perennial contenders in the NFL.
