One simple gesture from Taylor Swift helped Kansas City Chiefs superstar Travis Kelce realize that the Grammy Award-winning singer was truly something else.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are closing in on the one-year anniversary of their highly-publicized relationship. The Chiefs have been one of America’s most widely-followed teams during their dynastic run, but the Kelce-Swift relationship has brought plenty more attention to the organization.

Swift’s relationship with Kelce was essentially confirmed when she attended the Chiefs’ Week 3 home game against the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium. Swift attended 13 Kansas City games last season, including their victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58.

During his appearance on the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast, Kelce revealed that Taylor Swift didn’t want to be spoiled with all of the VIP treatments for her first Chiefs game. Kelce offered his new partner all the security she needed, but Swift wanted to maximize the experience with her family and friends:

The Bears-Chiefs contest drew 24.3 million viewers, and Swift’s presence was surely a reason why. The game itself was a blowout, with the Super Bowl champs defeating the Bears 41-10.

Along with nine regular season games, Swift attended each of the Chiefs’ three playoff victories before their Super Bowl win over San Fran. Swift made a quick trek home for Super Bowl Sunday after performing a concert in Tokyo, Japan the night before.
