Foo Fighters frontman, Dave Grohl surprised Swifties with a series of remarks about Taylor Swift during the band’s concert in London. Grohl’s comments, aimed at the pop superstar, left many fans puzzled, given his past praise for Swift.
As the Foo Fighters rocked London Stadium, Grohl mentioned that Swift’s Eras Tour was taking place simultaneously at Wembley Stadium. He told the crowd, “I tell you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift.” Grohl then jokingly referred to his own tour as the “Errors Tour,” acknowledging the band’s numerous mistakes over the years: “We’ve had more than a few eras, and more than a few fucking errors as well. Just a couple.”
The most controversial part of his comments came when Grohl implied that Swift doesn’t perform live. “That’s because we actually play live. You guys like raw, live rock ‘n’ roll music, right? You came to the right fucking place,” he said, stirring the crowd.
What baffled fans even more was the stark contrast between these remarks and Grohl’s previous praise for Swift. In 2015, Grohl had dedicated the Foo Fighters song “Congregation” to Swift, expressing his admiration by saying, “I’m officially obsessed. She might want to get a restraining order because I’m all about Swift.” He even joked about Swift being his “opening band,” calling her “Taylor and the Swifts.”

Adding to the confusion, Swift had not spoken negatively about the Foo Fighters, which made Grohl’s sudden jabs even more surprising. Fans speculated that Grohl might be feeling jealous of the massive attention Swift’s Eras Tour is receiving in England. As a pop star, Swift’s genre is often seen as the weaker counterpart to rock, which might have stirred some competitive spirit in Grohl.
Swift is set to return in August for another five dates to conclude the European leg of the Eras Tour. Meanwhile, Grohl’s unexpected comments have sparked discussions among fans, leaving many wondering about the true intentions behind his words.
