Prince William and Kate, the Princess of Wales, have a favourite holiday spot that’s a subtropical paradise they actually own.
The Isles of Scilly off the coast of Cornwall offer “outstandingly beautiful, uncrowded and unspoiled” landscapes and are also loved by the royal couple and their children. They have enjoyed the serene island of Tresco staying there for family getaways in 2020 and again in 2021 with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Prince William has since taken ownership of the Isles and has been seen enjoying bike rides and mingling with the locals alongside his wife and kids. The isles are a coveted retreat for royals and celebrities because of their stunning beauty and seclusion with just 5,000 tourist beds available making them an ideal placefor some peaceful downtime.
Their small population of just 2,100 permanent residents, the largest island, St Mary’s, is home to 1,600 of them. Reaching the islands requires a boat or plane, and hopping between them typically involves a quaint ferry ride.
