This Will Be Great As Kelce Hosted Saturday Night Live Already
ravis Kelce is a Super Bowl-winning tight end, who has grown in popularity since dating world-renowned pop star, Taylor Swift. While his “New Heights Podcast” with brother Jason Kelce had already grown exponentially, it shot up in popularity following the publicized relationship between Travis and Taylor.
Kelce has hosted Saturday Night Live already, and his knack for speaking has been showcased many times. During the 2023 NFL season, “New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce” jumped up to the #1 spot in terms of podcast traffic. That had a lot to do with Kelce and Swift dating, but it appears that relationship continues to make Travis Kelce a popular name.
Kelce’s personality is a hot commodity, as he is in talks to secure his first big-time shot at hosting a television show for longer than just one episode.
According to Variety.com, Kelce is in talks to become the host of the revival of “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” for Amazon Prime Video. The beloved trivia game show pits contestants against intelligent fifth-grade students and tests the contestants’ knowledge against their younger competition.
The original show was hosted by comedian, actor, and author Jeff Foxworthy. The series first aired on Fox in 2007. The series ran from 2007 to 2009 for three seasons and was subsequently syndicated and released again from 2009 to 2011.
Foxworthy would help to revive the show in 2015, which ran for one season. In 2019, Nickelodeon spearheaded another revival, this time hosted by popular wrestler and actor—John Cena.
Kelce will now have his shot at hosting a major television program and reviving a trivia game show that captured the hearts of many. Strangely, “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” will be rebooted for the third time, but time will tell if it can become a hit again.
Amazon Prime Video could likely attempt to lure Taylor Swift into the mix with Kelce hosting. Should she appear on the revival in any capacity, the show could become an instant hit.
Rumors of Kelce stepping away from football have been known for a couple of seasons at this point, and his emergence into the limelight might signal his retirement could arrive even faster.
Many football players who step away from the game often find themselves back as analysts or coaches, but Kelce’s personality fits more with a game show host vibe. Kelce could easily carve out a career in show business, much like the aforementioned John Cena.
